The official Japanese website for Animal Crossing: City Folk (or "Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City"). It can be found at: www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/ruuj/index.htmlSo far, the main new thing is the video on the front page. It is interesting to note that there is a calendar by the video, so it looks like there might be periodic video updates on the official site. Also, if you go to Nintendo of Japan's conference page here and click on the "Wii button" in the Nintendo Conference section, you can see some footage of some upcoming Wii games, including AC:CF. Now I am going to get into my typical style of observations, so there may be some spoilers. Official Website Observations-From video: a new squirrel villager, a new rabbit villager -From video: It seems like the AC:WW "moving-in, moving-out" system still exists in some form, as Ed is seen having boxes in his house. -Snowballs and fireworks still exist. -It definitely is looking like the city changes appearance somewhat throughout the year. -A human can be seen talking to Jack, or at least a Jack look-a-like. -A picture of that city event with the special character who has balloons is shown. From my best estimates from that picture, here are the villagers shown: Eunice, Kitty, Ed, Satsuchi (from Doubutsu no Mori e+), and a small panda bear. Conference Video Observations-There is a new peacock special visitor. It seems that this character appears at the Town Hall during some event during the winter. -There are some new and neat accessories shown. -Fireworks and sparklers still exist.

Awesome, thanks for this link, I have been searching forever trying to find this.
That pea-edited- looks pretty interesting, I wonder what he does or offers.
I like that it appears the city gets season changes as well, It's a shame the game cant have similar weather according to the country it's in, I think it would be kewl to have snow in december and then visit a friend in Aus. and see green grass on the ground. lol

There are two more gameplay videos here: www.nintendo.co.jp/n10/conference2008fall/presen/e/07.htmlOne mainly just showcases Wii-Speak. Some More Observations from Above Videos-There seems to be a fairy tale series of furniture. -The fish tank looks HUGE. -The fossil room seems to have a painting in the back. -A new sheep villager seen in the city. -Dr. Shrunk is shown in the theater. Pierce and a purple ostrich are shown sitting in the audience. -Watch the skunk actually work! I wish we could see the results. -You can also see various types of weather and watch a present get shot down with a slingshot. -Four characters listen to K.K. Shame there isn't any background music in these videos. -There is a good look at the Gracie furniture series in the Wii-Speak video.

Thanks so much for the reminder. I forgot to go check everyday, so I watched them all just now. So cool!
I must say I'm not all that excited about the city part of the game right now. It seems like stuff that after a few times won't really be so interesting. I'm more interested in being in my town and catching bugs, fish and growing hybrids. Oh, and filling my catalog. Those are my favorite things.

The official Japanese site has received a major upgrade. I did a quick Google auto-translation, and there doesn't really appear to be that much in terms of "new" information. Here are some things though:
This seems to be talking about Katrina. It seems to be indicating there is some "fortune" she can give out that only activates with friends visit your village?
This seems to indicate there is some "furniture shop" related event in the city, and this also talks about Phineas, the guy who sells balloons and other things in the city.
This seems to be talking about various special visitors such as Wendell and Pascal.
This was something listed on the top of the event calendar.
This was the auto-translation of the "key" indicated what the cherries and oranges mean on the event calendar. I'm not entirely sure what this means though.
Here is the automatically translated calendar for the upcoming year. Keep in mind that is is rumored that different regions of the game will have some slightly different events.
