Though this might be helpful.
I used Windows Live Calendar to create an event calendar for most Animal Crossing: City Folk events. I set up all the events based on the listing in the player's guide. The only few events not in the calendar are foreign ones mainly because the scheduling for them is a little weird and I didn't see much point.
For those of you with a Hotmail, MSN, or Live e-mail account, you can subscribe to the calendar and set your own reminders. Default setting is No Reminder. And if you have some sort of calendar program, you can use the ICS. You can also subscribe to the RSS feed, but it looked a bit weird to me when I saw the feed. If you can't do any of the above, then I suppose we can always make a text-only version on these forums for easier access.
Notes about reminders:
By the way, as the owner, only I can add, delete, and edit events.Don't see any way to copy the calendar and make it your own to do with whatever you wish. See later post.
I plan on making a Neighbor Birthday Calendar eventually, if anyone would like to use it.
You can share this calendar with anywhere else for other City Folk players.
And here it is. Hope it's helpful.

A few more notes I forgot to mention.

Notes about reminders:
- Recurring events will get the same reminder you choose for each recurrence. For example, you'd only need to set the reminder for an event like Jingle's visit (December 25) once, and it'll appear in all future visits by Jingle.
- All of the Fishing Tourney, Flea Market, Fireworks Show, Bunny Day, Festivale, Bug-Off, and Autumn Moon events had to be input one-by-one mostly, so reminders won't show for some of them. For example, setting the reminder for the Flea Market in March will only be set for March Flea Markets. There was no consistent interval between these particular events, so it had to be done this way.
By the way, as the owner, only I can add, delete, and edit events.

EDIT (3-24-09)
A few more notes I forgot to mention.
- All updates will show for everyone. However, I don't think subscribers will be notified, so I can just post any updates here.
- Most (because I may have missed some) of the non-US events are set for their region's time zone. Europe-wide events are set to the United Kingdom's GMT time zone.
- And if there are any mistakes or anything that could be added please let me know here or over PM.
- From my experience, Windows Live has some issues every now and then so reminders may sometimes arrive late.
