I was originally going to ask if anyone here had the Japanese version or had a friend with a Japanese version of the game in preparation for the Japan-only event, Bean Day, on February 3. But I guess a general thread is better.
I never actually looked into the features prior to buying the game, but finally looking over the calendar in the guide, there are a few holidays and events that will only occur in different towns depending on the country or continent the player is in. Seriously, there are a bunch of days for Father's and Mother's Day listed in the guide for each country.
As an extra bonus for particular events, you can speak to Tortimer in those foreign towns and get a special country-specific item. These items aren't even listed in the guide. I've seen various lists elsewhere on the Internet.
Countries/Continents denoted in the guide's calendar:
Considering Korea isn't listed, there may be several other countries. However, most of those countries were mentioned just for their Mother's and Father's Days. The ones that have country-specific items (as far as I have found out), are North America, Europe, Japan, and Korea. Since Korea wasn't listed, I don't know the events.
Region-Specific events with items:
*Autumn Moon for North America and Europe will be on October 4, 2009.
So, anyone got any friends in Europe, Japan, or Korea? lol
