I have it. Although, I must admit that there is a bit of awkwardness in the thought of talking with others (for me at least). Mostly because I'm not talkative to begin with, so there would be awkward silences. It's easier for me to type things out.
Heck, I generally turn off the Voice Chat for Diamond/Pearl. And when it's on because of the host, I turn my sound off and say nothing.
I must also admit, though, that I find it interesting and actually would consider trying it out, but probably with good friends.
First...I need to get my wireless fixed or just get a LAN Adapter.

:)I too have the Wii Speak, usually I use my keyboard because I am shy and also I seem to have more to say when I type for some reason!! Also some people do chat alot on the Wii Speak and I feel rude because it seems that I accidently cut them off before they are finished talking. I shall keep practicing with people I wifi with frequently but there is no way to really know if your voice is loud or soft, I hear echo alot from other people and so I keep the volume low on the tv. It is difficult to meet up with folks, it seems they are not on when I am, we are on Pacific Time and I have no idea what time this site is on, it is hours ahead of me!!

I have the wii-speak and live on the west coast in Oregon! My sister has it too so I've only used it with her, but it's a lot of fun. I hate to admit it, but I'm kind of looking forward to my kids getting back to school so I can play my game a little more frequently. I'd be interested in connecting with someone else who wanted to play during the day pacific time. I'm just getting used to posting to the forum here, but I've been coming as a guest and reading the threads and really like the family friendliness and rules of this site!

I don't have Wii Speak, and I don't plan on buying it. A few people I wifi with do have it. They speak and I can hear them, and I type back. I'm shy, and I don't like actually talking to people I don't know well. So I much prefer typing. And one of my friends with Wii Speak will just type with me, because she doesn't really like it either. But it's nice that I can hear people even if I don't have Wii Speak. I think they seem to feel uncomfortable talking when I type though.
I just got a 6 ft. extender for my keyboard cable, so I can sit comfortably on my couch when I type.

I love the wii speak it is a lot nicer than trying to type. I hate when you are visiting others towns and someone comes in or leaves and you have to retype what you were saying. It does take a little getting use to but I am loving it!!!!
