;D Greetings, fellow Animal Crossing fans. I am new to using the internet with my Wii-what a challenge that hookup was. I have been playing AC for several years, first on the Gamecube and now on my Wii. I have a lovely town, called Mamatown and I have been playing on the Wii since Christmas. I am having a few challenges though... Fistly, I can't grow a coconut by the beach...what's the problem? Is it Winter or do I need to water it more? I am planting them in the sand...should it be in the grass? Secondly, when the Scallop fella shows up, will he give me any gifts for scallops, or only advice? Third, I have quizzed my family and friends and no one seems to have the same Animal Crossing obsession that my kids and I do. Which means that I have no towns to visit now that we are online. Can anyone tell me the best way to go about making friends and inviting people to our town? And lastly, I love that this is a family friendly fansite and I would appreciate any and all advice that may come my way! peace. TinaMarie

I´ll be connecting in a bit, my town is a dump though, coz I´m trying to get a special flower...............one u get when ur town is a mess...... ;D I´m also trying to get hybrids... my fruit is pears so hope it´s not the same as urs I think as far as the coconuts are concerned it has to be on the grass next to the sea, I planted my 1 and only coconut in the sand and gave it love and water and the following day it was no longer there I think I remember solving this problem on the GC by planting them on the grass............ anyway, maybe see u in a bit!!

Greetings tinamarie and Welcome to ACTFC, I hope you will continue to enjoy your stay here with us.
As for your Coconut tree question.
First trees do not require watering at all. Second trees wont grow if they are to close to other objects. "river, ocean, lakes, buildings, cliffs, other trees, and if they are near 'signs'. the random signs you see posted in your town are markers where future houses can appear so no trees will grow near them."
Safest bet when planting coconuts is within the first 3 walking spaces above the sand, or right along the edge of the sand. and be sure there is room to walk between any other objects, this is usually a good way to judge safe distance to plant.
Hope this helps, and we are always willing to help answer any questions.

Thankyou, Meltdown, Woberta and Gretel for your friendly greetings and advice. I will take your advice Meltdown, the next time a coconut washes up on shore. Gretel, I still have to fiqure out how to leave my town....I'll let everyone know when I work the kinks out...and have journeyed out! And if Woberta is out there, I'm gonna try to go back on tonight, and I'll open my gates, if you wanna try coming over.
